Redesigned all new 2018 Nissan Armada is finally here.  After years of waiting and anticipating the big redesign of the model finally happened. 2018 Armada has new design, as well as new platform and improved performances. New look is perhaps best explained by Nissan itself by saying it is “rugged yet sophisticated”. Its specs resemble most Nissan Patrol, or Infiniti QX80 as it is known is USA. What is different with latest 2018 Nissan Armada? We will divide it into sections and explain each.

Starting from the basics, new Armada is built on a new platform. It is a body-on-frame platform shared with Nissan Patrol. When it comes to dimensions new model is wider for 0.6 inches and longer than before by 1.2 inch. Its wheelbase lost 2.1 inch. You will be surprised to hear that Nissan also reduced some of its height as well making it more aerodynamic than before. Speaking in numbers it is now 2.2 inches lower than previous model. Changes not only happened with size, 2018 Nissan Armada has increased torsional rigidity by 20 percent. For better feeling during the ride, Japanese automotive company integrated acoustic glass on the front side windows and windshield. New materials also influenced weight of the model, which is now lighter somewhere between 150 and 300 lbs.

On the inside, Armada now offers same passenger’s capacity (8 seats) but little less room for them. Third row can now be folded flat into the floor, which is a great advantage for the ones who need extra cargo room.

2018 Nissan Armada continues to offer the same trims – SV, SL, and Platinum, but each one of these comes with more features than before. Regardless of the trim level you will now find LED headlamps, navigation with traffic and weather info, SiriusXM, an 8.0-inch color display connected with 13-speaker Bose audio system. Commodity is also on a great level with heated front seats and dual-zone climate control. Middle trim SL comes with a 360-degree camera, remote engine start and few more features that separate it from the base trim. Platinum level gets cooled front seats and heated middle row seats. Besides this, it offers many gadgets that will enhance your driving experience such as sound-absorbing acoustic glass.

Performance specs of the 2018 Nissan Armada

Although 2018 Nissan Armada comes with the same engine, it is upgraded and connected to new transmission giving it better performance than before. Its 5.6-liter V8 engine now offers 390 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque, which is 73 hp and 16 lb-ft more than before. It is now direct injected and has new pistons. This power is transmitted to either rear or all wheels via seven-speed automatic transmission. However towing capacity is the same for all and it is 8,500 pounds.

Officially released at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show, the model will hit the dealer showrooms this summer. Pricing specs are not revealed yet, but is expected to start somewhere around $44,000.
